buildmeasmallintestine: (Vehicle Mode)
There's a terrible joke to be made somewhere in here, but I will forego it.

Regardless, here's where you can leave any feedback for my playing of Arcee, currently at [community profile] re_alignment

Anon, screening is on, IP logging is off. Looking for constructive comments on bettering myself though, so let's keep that in mind~ :)

*History: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Arcee_%28Prime%29
*Personality: Most of the time, Arcee is calm, collected, and one of Optimus Prime's most loyal and fiercest soldiers on the battlefield. As one of his primary fighters alongside Bulkhead and Bumblebee, Arcee fulfills her duty as a warrior to the utmost of her ability. For the most part, she does it pretty damned well and will do nearly anything to uphold the Autobot code and Prime's directive of safeguarding the citizens of planet Earth.

Though serious business most of the time, she is quick to be a smartass, both to her enemies and her companions. She has a dry sense of humor, something which is amazing she's managed to keep in spite of the numerous hardships she's faced. If anything, one could almost see that as a coping mechanism, to make it appear she's not as concerned about the dangerous situations she's in as she actually is.

While for the most part by the book and probably able to recite said book without even blinking, Arcee is completely unafraid to throw it out the window when the time calls for it. Shooting a helpless Megatron's life support? Sure! Chasing down her most deadly arch nemesis by herself when she's been told repeatedly not to? Absolutely! In spite of her collected demeanor, there are just certain things which trigger an impulsive streak within Arcee, which also tends to correlate with bringing out her inner loner.

A long time ago during the war for Cybertron, Arcee lost her partner - Tailgate - during a torturous "interview" by the Decepticon hunter, Airachnid. Tailgate was murdered in order to get Arcee to talk - which she didn't - and this act was something which haunted her for years to come. This was only made worse years later when her next partner, Cliffjumper, was captured and killed by the Decpeticon air commander, Starscream. With so few of her own kind left after Cliffjumper's death, Arcee quickly started to become even more withdrawn and hard nosed.

At least, she tried, but then she met Jack Darby, whom she was saddled with protecting. She very well TRIED to brush him off, but duty was duty. She began to watch after Jack begrudgingly at first, but in time came to appreciate and care for him. Eventually she would accept his being her new "partner" after they both confronted Airachnid upon her arrival on Earth, in which Jack actually managed to survive on his own. (For the most part.)

Whenever Airachnid is concerned, Arcee pretty much has blinders come up. Though she has made strides towards working through her blind hatred of Cliffjumper's killer in Starscream, such can not be said for Airachnid. The sheer bloodlust and want to see Airachnid brought down, one way or another, fueled her for a good long while whenever they confronted each other. However, those lessons learned dealing with Starscream did eventually carry through, as when finally faced with Airachnid in a life-or-death duel, she ended up capturing her enemy instead of killing her.

Because in the end, she is true to what she is - she is, again, one of Optimus Prime's most trusted. In spite of her emotional outbursts in relation to those who have killed others she cares about, she cares more about maintaining that respect and dignity, and being a better bot than those she's fighting.

When it all comes down to it, she is most concerned about her "family." Optimus, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Ratchet are this to her, above all else. This has in time extended to their human companions. She will go above and beyond her duty to protect each and every one of them, even at the risk of her own life. Or especially at the risk of that, sometimes. They are all she has in the universe - and without a shadow of a doubt, she loves each one of them in some manner or another.

Serious, though also snarky, Arcee is a soldier at heart. But her biggest struggle is to still make sure she doesn't betray that heart when fighting to protect everyone around her.

*Powers/Abilities: As a Cybetronian, Arcee is ... well, a giant robot. Not quite as big as her comrades or enemies, in most cases, but compared to most humans she's fairly big. As is usual with her race, she is able to convert into an alternate, "Vehicle Mode." In this case, it is a vehicle far more compact than she is - a motorcycle. A very fast motorcycle. Able to compact down into such a smaller size, it is also handy for getting into places other Cybertronians might not be normally able to fit.

In either mode, Arcee is extremely fast and nimble. In Robot Mode, she is quick footed and agile, moving with much more speed and grace than one might expect from a machine of her size. She is an expert hand-to-hand combatant, able to move in and out of attacks, and strike at her opponents with often deadly precision.

Her upper arms can convert into bladed weapons - a preference for when she's in close range or rapid fire energy blasters. Though her guns are not as strong as they are for comrades such as Bulkhead or Optimus Prime, they can make up for it with their speed and her generally excellent battle-trained aim. That aim is really well and good enough she can keep moving and still get her shots to reach their mark.

*Inventory: Nothing except herself.

*Starting Polarity: No preference, though if her Prime Autobot cast mates are leaning in one direction she'll be likely to lean the same way.

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample:
[Audio clicks on, with the sound of someone fumbling with something before Arcee's voice comes in.]

Ratchet? Fowler?

Anyone? What the scrap is this thing?

Whoever's managing the Ground Bridge, I think you missed.

[Pause, as if waiting for a response, and a frustrated sound from her.]

For the love of Primus... Okay. If any Autobot slash US military person can even hear this, get me a Bridge out of wherever here is. I'm missing a young Scout named Bumblebee, and more importantly, two humans named Jack and Miko.

We're in sort of a dangerous situation, so let's make this hasty, fellas.

*Third Person Sample: As Arcee awoke, she was instantly on the defensive. This was ... not the Autobot headquarters in Nevada. This was not Nevada at all.

As her optics focused, and she stared up at the strange sky, a haunting realization struck her - this didn't look like Earth, either.

Growling, her arm shifted and changed, transforming into a blaster. She swung it around as she began to move, slowly at first, and faster as she saw her companions were nowhere nearby.

What in the name of Primus was going on, she wondered? Last thing she knew, they had been battling - and had bested - Knock-Out and a particularly nasty Insecticon. They secured the relic. They were on their way back...

And...

Then, here she was. Alone.

"JACK!" she screamed, though it was very evident that her voice was just hitting dead air. "Bumblebee! Miko!"

Nothing.

She slowed down, and just tried to focus. Take in her surroundings. She reached up with her free hand, tapping it to try and bring up communications with base.

Again, nothing. The signal was just static.

She dropped her hand as it clenched into a fist, and she shook in aggravation. This was bad. This was very, very bad. The situation they were already in was... well, a race for numerous doomsday weapons wasn't exactly a pleasant thing to be dealing with. Everything was just getting more and more dangerous, and now...

Now, this?

Bumblebee could take care of himself. She was worried about his whereabouts, but not about his ability to protect himself.

Jack and Miko, however... they could be anywhere. If anything had happened to them...

No, Arcee, she thought to herself. Check those thoughts. Scout the location. Secure it if need be. Find something that can TALK, figure out where you ARE... THEN worry about them. If you do that backwards, you're not going to be able to help anyone.

Her expression hardened, and she nodded to herself.

Then, she began to move. Purposefully, now. She had to figure out what was going on, and she had to figure it out fast.
